THE EVERYDAY ALCHEMISTS are here.
…an ode to silence, circles and the earthly elements for Happinez 2021
I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land where I live and work today, the Arakwal people of the Bundjalung nation (also known as Byron Bay). I pay respect to Tribal Elders past, present and emerging. I recognise their continuing connection to land, water and community and extend deep gratitude for sharing their knowledge and wisdom with me through storytelling, art, bushwalking, bushtucker and music. I celebrate their continuing culture everyday. This always was and always will be Aboriginal Land.
I would also like to acknowledge and pay respect to Tribal Elders past, present and emerging of the Garigal people of the Guringai nation where I spent my childhood (also known as the Northern Beaches, Pittwater, and parts of the Hawkesbury River). My creativity grew from this special land and I am eternally grateful.
Please listen to the Uluru Statement from the Heart, it’s available in over 60 languages.
Below is a small selection of my visual work, please feel free to scroll through to get a feel for what I create…
With love, Pia
