What is Everyday Alchemy?

——-Are you looking for The Everyday Alchemists?

It's been a week or so since my new website went live and it's been wonderful to receive daily feedback and appreciation, thank you! For those who have had a chance to wander and leaf through the pages, you may have noticed I've changed the name of my journal. It used to be called 'enhance the everyday'. But a few years ago as I began journeying deeper, I realised this concept wasn't resonating with me so much anymore. I realised my interest was no longer so much on the beauty but on the making. And that's when the term Everyday Alchemy came to mind. So what is it? This is the description I came up with...

Everyday Alchemy is the process of transforming an everyday object, story or experience into something extraordinary with seemingly little effort, as if magically.

I feel like this aptly describes the 'making' component of living as a creative being. Because for me it's not just about the end result, it's not about the beauty or the 'happy', it's about the alchemy. And that's what I've always been most interested in. Not only do I love making but I love learning about how things are made, connecting with other creative beings, talking about our creative processes, and sharing the processes with others.

I'm excited to finally share this new phase of my creative journey with you. It's something I've been working on quietly for a few years and it's a beautiful feeling to be able to open up and let it evolve and grow into the world. There are a number of everyday alchemy projects in the works, including a highly-illustrated hard cover book. While I work on that rather large project I'll be creating and sharing little ebooks and seasonal guides, and sharing ideas and fellow everyday alchemists here in my journal. My first ebook in the 'little everyday alchemists' series is called Jewel of the Sea and is out now...

Jewel Of The Sea is a simple & beautiful story about a mother and her child playing by the seaside.  It was inspired by one of my recent trips with Laly to one of our favourite beaches. These little everyday alchemist ebooks are created for readers of all ages. They are designed to encourage the exploration of living life guided by intuition. I'm looking forward to sharing more about the creation of the book and series in my next post. Have a lovely weekend! xx

PS for those who have been asking me to make an album of my piano compositions, I finally did it! It's here for your listening pleasure. There are a few more piano pieces that have been added to the playlist which I'll reveal more about in coming weeks.

Welcome, welcome, welcome...

May your wandering heart never get lost. Carry this with you...

May your wandering heart never get lost. Carry this with you...

Here it is dear friends, my new online space. After many months of building, it is ready to share, to enjoy, to ignite... I don't want to say too much about it in this post, I'd love you to peruse it at your leisure first, as though you are beachcombing perhaps, to see what you might find that touches your heart...

I will say this though - it has only just gone live, so there may still be a few glitches as it reaches around the world, and if so I'd love you to let me know. At this stage we know that the import of the old blog (understandably there are 9 years worth of photographs & posts) didn't go through completely and there are many images from older posts that haven't been carried over. We will be rectifying this next week.

But apart from that, everything should be working, clickable, downloadable.

And there are two surprises for you. Two new works that I've kept very quiet about. Both are available for you to take home now. And I'll give you two clues only: one you can listen to, the other  you can read & view with your children & your inner child.

I'll be sharing more about the making of these works in coming weeks.

Thank you beautiful souls, for keeping a space for me in your hearts all this time while I've been journeying through the dark forest of the last couple of years. I've come through to the clearing now. I can feel the sun on my skin, I can hear the ocean waves, and I can touch the soft earth. It's all meant to be, and I'm ready to stand up straight, face to the sun and glow again.  I hope you enjoy what comes from this new space as much as I love creating and being here.

If you feel moved by anything you see (or hear!) in my latest work, please feel free to share it with your friends and community.

A massive thank you to my beautiful partner in life, Romain for helping me build the site and make my vision come to life. And the biggest hug to my close friends for keeping me ignited through the whole process.

With Love,

Pia xx

the last post on this blog...

I've been writing on this blog for nine years, can you believe it? With only one makeover about 7 or so years ago. And in a few days, it will be no longer as my new website is almost ready. We have just a few more things to do and I'm hoping that by mid-week it will be able to go live. So although all the posts on this blog will be transferred to the new site and I'll be continuing to write in the new space, technically this post will be the very last one on this blog, as you see it now. It's the end of an era. A part of me that is ready to shed, shift and transform. I'm ready to open the door.

So for the next few days, I hope you can take a moment or two to peruse this old blog, read back on some of the archived posts from when I lived on the houseboat, rode my bike around Amsterdam, shared beautifulwork bybeautiful people, made soundscapes in Paris, travelled to some beautiful places in France, became pregnant, shared my music... there are many memories, and I'm incredibly thankful to those of you who have joined me along the way and shared the ride.

There will be lots of new inspiration in the new space, and a few special items I'm so looking forward to sharing. If you'd like to make sure you are one of the first to view it, please subscribe via email. I hope to see you in a few days, in my new space. Au revoir (blog)house, you've been wonderful...
